Some of the biggest South American teams will be battling it out to gain vital ranking points in the race to reach the Stockholm Major.

The playoffs of the second South American Regional Major Ranking (RMR) event, CBCS Elite League Season 2, kick off on Thursday at 22:20 . Eight teams qualified after a best-of-one Swiss group stage which finished in late July, and the playoff games will use a best-of-three format, with the grand final taking place on Sunday at 00:00 .

Paquetá will be hoping iDk can continue his group stage form

The quarterfinals begin on Thursday with Paquetá taking on DETONA, before we see SWS vs. Bravos, Sharks vs. Liberty and MIBR vs. KG Network on Friday. The semifinals will then take place on Saturday, with the third place decider and grand final happening on Sunday.

The favourites going into playoffs will be the two most recognisable teams in attendance, MIBR and Sharks, although a strong 3-0 showing in the group stage from the Paquetá squad will make them a dark horse; many eyes will be on the impressive Victor "⁠iDk⁠" Torraca, who posted a strong 1.39 rating to power them through to playoffs.

Only one Contender spot is available through the South American RMR, so there is all to play for, with 2000 points going to the winner of this event. Less than 300 points currently separate MIBR, Sharks, and Paquetá at the top of the RMR standings ahead of the conclusion of the second event, with one more expected to take place later in the year to round off the ranking.
